Steroid Rap Sheet Claimed Chris Benoit: Pro Wrestler Strangled Wife, Suffocated Son and Hung Himself; Is It a Case of Roid Rage?
Chris Benoit's wife complained about the fact that the pro wrestler was too busy to take care of their mentally retarded son. She could not do it on her own. She was overwhelmed. Chris did not see it that way. He had to train and condition his body to receive pain, real and fake blows from other wrestlers. He had to feed his public persona. His status demanded that he be on the road competing and hanging out with the guys all the time. The lifestyle appeared not to include a wife who used to be part of the ring and a disabled son. Yet, when he won the championship, he called his wife and son to the podium. What could have gone wrong?

Police are now saying that during the weekend, Benoit strangled his wife, suffocated their 7-year-old son and then hung himself from some weight equipment. Police found his wife tied up. Some Bibles were placed around the bodies. Police also found steroids in Benoit's house seated far away from the beautiful entrance gate. Who could have thought that this woman and this poor child were living in hell amidst all these drugs and abuse in a pristine, beautiful and peaceful corridor? Money does not buy happiness and peace of mind. It only buys more stuff which will be left behind for others to enjoy until they, themselves, get trapped by them.
What has happened to the world of Pro Wrestling? How many other young men have to die before they reach 50 years old? Despite their ring achievement, most of them may not have had a fulfilling life. Their performance persona appears to be tormented. The highlight appears to blind them. Chris Benoit's wife did not want him to quit wrestling, but she wanted him to be around more to take care of their challenged son. She was willing to negotiate. That, she could not have. Many are blaming the killings on "roid rage."
