Made in China Image Tainted by Lack of Quality Control: What Can China Do to Save Economy?

Tainted Food Imports: China, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and others.

Welcome to the new massive Globalization. In your own refrigerator and freezer, you will have grocery, produce and food items from more than a dozen countries around the world. Who is vouching for their safety? The Food and Drug Administration inspectors have stopped more tainted food items from other countries. The only difference is that they do not grab the headlines like the recent cases of Chinese food problems. There have been cases of Black pepper with salmonella from India, crabmeat from Mexico that is so filthy to eat and candy from Denmark that is mislabeled. The Food and Drug Administration officials are watching many other countries' imports closely. They have also stopped more food shipments from Mexico and India in the past year than they have from China. What is the statistics for countries such as the Dominican Republic? Produce from Dominican Republic was stopped 817 times last year, usually for having traces of illegal pesticides. Candy from Denmark was stopped a total of 520 times.

The major question is how often shipments of any products are impounded. All the countries of the world want to export coffee, cocoa, rice, basmati rice, cucumbers, coconuts, peas, beans, peaches, cantaloupes, watermelons, oranges, seafood to the U.S.

So far, officials have been saying that there is no evidence of a systematic problem for any particular product. Consumers need to remain aware of tainted foods that may slip through inspection. On many occasions, Japan has suspended the import of Harris Farms beef, for example. They have regulations that need to be followed. It is not only a U.S. phenomenon. Most governments around the world are careful about what is entering their countries.

Banks Charge Overdraft Fees in Predatory Lending Practices. Find Out If You Are Scammed

Stop Banks and Credit Unions from Taking Your Money with Overdraft Fees

How banks and credit unions are scamming their members.

The not-so popular practices, the insidious predatory lending practices of your own credit unions will make you as mad as hell. If you did not know about them, The Center for Responsible Lending has just accused banks and credit unions of turning overdraft loan fees into profit centers. They manipulate the process so that customers get caught paying more fees than necessary, without any warning. Now, you can see why these banks and credit unions are encouraging their customers to participate in online banking. Once you start using that debit card they hand to you, they know for sure that you will be making mistakes by bouncing one or two checks. Oftentimes, ridiculous amounts such as $2.00 or $5.00 cups of Starbucks will end up costing you $50. The number of times these credit unions can charge your account behind your back depends on the number of small purchases you have made when you do not have sufficient funds in your account. These practices must stop if credit unions which claim to take great pride in their community.

Most of the Credit Unions in California charge $25 when their customers do not have enough funds in their account. They offer overdraft protection as a valued service that helps customers avoid embarrassment and merchant charges for insufficient funds. I was hit by these overdraft fees, got mad, canceled the account and asked them to set my account to deny payment in case of lack of funds. That is the problem that comes with online banking. The payments are pre-set. No matter what, they will go through. Account holders will have to make several overdraft fee payments for a higher total. Banks that cover overdraft by charging fees are taking money from American families. They know that the debit card will keep working despite the lack of funds in their account. Common banking practices such as processing the largest check first or debit card transaction first are misleading. Single surprise overdraft can lead to a domino effect.

Shoddy Chinese Products: The Case of the Chinese Toothpaste, Seafood and Pet Food

Chinese business men and women do not know what to do with the bad news. Foreign governments know they have to do something to protect their populations. The U.S. government is taking measures to prevent toothpaste and seafood from killing Americans. This is a major problem for the Chinese economy. A few bad manufacturers are destroying the booming Chinese economy. What can they do? Wallstreet365Live.com is commenting on serious issues of life and death when it comes to these products that kill Haitians and Panamanians. Now Canada is warning Canadians against the use of toothpaste from China.

"The toothpaste, labelled as 100 ml Colgate Fluoride Toothpaste Herbal, Colgate Fluoride Toothpaste Maximum Cavity Protection and Colgate Fluoride Toothpaste Gel, contain high levels of harmful bacteria."
There are signs and some mistakes you can look out for. The federal agency says the counterfeit products are identifiable by spelling mistakes on labels, such as “isclinically,” “SOUTH AFRLCA” and “South African Dental Assoxiation.”

Health Canada says fever, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain are a few of the potential side effects of the tainted toothpaste. It advises anyone who has bought the counterfeit product to stop using it and see a doctor if they have any symptoms.

Who wants to mess around with contaminated foods from another country?

"The FDA said tests on some Chinese imported fish between October and May repeatedly found traces of the antibiotics nitrofuran and fluoroquinolone, as well as the antifungals malachite green and gentian violet. Of particular concern are the fluoroquinolones, a family of widely used human antibiotics that the FDA forbids in seafood — in part to prevent bacteria from developing resistance to these important drugs. The best known example is ciprofloxacin, sold as Cipro, which made headlines as a treatment during the 2001 anthrax attacks."

Steroid Rap Sheet Claimed Chris Benoit: Pro Wrestler Strangled Wife, Suffocated Son and Hung Himself; Is It a Case of Roid Rage?

Steroid Rap Sheet Claimed Chris Benoit: Pro Wrestler Strangled Wife, Suffocated Son and Hung Himself; Is It a Case of Roid Rage?

Chris Benoit's wife complained about the fact that the pro wrestler was too busy to take care of their mentally retarded son. She could not do it on her own. She was overwhelmed. Chris did not see it that way. He had to train and condition his body to receive pain, real and fake blows from other wrestlers. He had to feed his public persona. His status demanded that he be on the road competing and hanging out with the guys all the time. The lifestyle appeared not to include a wife who used to be part of the ring and a disabled son. Yet, when he won the championship, he called his wife and son to the podium. What could have gone wrong?

Police are now saying that during the weekend, Benoit strangled his wife, suffocated their 7-year-old son and then hung himself from some weight equipment. Police found his wife tied up. Some Bibles were placed around the bodies. Police also found steroids in Benoit's house seated far away from the beautiful entrance gate. Who could have thought that this woman and this poor child were living in hell amidst all these drugs and abuse in a pristine, beautiful and peaceful corridor? Money does not buy happiness and peace of mind. It only buys more stuff which will be left behind for others to enjoy until they, themselves, get trapped by them.

What has happened to the world of Pro Wrestling? How many other young men have to die before they reach 50 years old? Despite their ring achievement, most of them may not have had a fulfilling life. Their performance persona appears to be tormented. The highlight appears to blind them. Chris Benoit's wife did not want him to quit wrestling, but she wanted him to be around more to take care of their challenged son. She was willing to negotiate. That, she could not have. Many are blaming the killings on "roid rage."

Wall Street Comes To West Side, Fresno, CA; Billionaire Donald Trump Agrees to Buy Running Horse Golf Course

wallstreet365live.com:
Wall Street Comes To West Side, Fresno, CA. The Donald is the Embodiment of this Strange World of Glamour and high Finance

Billionaire Donald Trump Agrees to Buy Running Horse Golf Course, Enters Fresno's West Side Triumphantly: Blight, Despair & Isolation Are Chased Away

I am standing on the corner of Chandler Ave., not too far from California Avenue and the giant palm trees on Kearney Boulevard. I am looking at the proof of the slow housing market. Unfinished houses are sitting on brown dirt. They appear desolate. Construction activities, all the workers' trucks, music, and chatter have long died or moved away to the next ongoing construction. The proof is in the pudding. The reality has long hit Running Horse which has been in bankruptcy court for some time now. Donald Trump comes along and gives his letter of intent to the court. He agreed to pay $25 million up front and $15 million from future sales of homes at Running Horse. What will happen to the hundreds of investors whose money is tied to the Running Horse development?

More and more people are talking mostly about what the presence of any Trump properties in the Central Valley of California would mean to the local economy. Some residents and farmers have been showing their appreciation for his interests in the golf project by writing and sending baskets of fresh fruits to the New York Tycoon. If all the initial investors and Evans agree with the offer all the way to the end, then Donald Trump will touch down with an amazing bag of goodies: a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course and 780 high-priced homes and potentially a PGA Tour event in the future.

The partially finished golf course sits amidst homes, farming lands and other businesses. Donald Trump considers some of the entities bordering the project "blight" that needs to be taken care of. He also relies on the goodwill of local residents and some key politicians who see him as the last hope for this part of the town. Donald even suggests eminent domain laws which city officials may use to clean up the area so Donald Trump can bring his large trends of development. Nobody knows for sure who will end up owning bankrupt Running Horse. Donald may have started a local bidding war. What if other creditors with deep pockets and other bidders who read this story decide to get in on the action by offering more money? Bankruptcy documents show the property is valued at $20 million to $40 million. The project has a burden of up to $70 million debt. If Donald gets the project, many early investors, more than 300 of them, will not be paid anything. Running Horse owner Mick Evans will have a lot head-scratching to do while trying to explain it to the investors.

No matter what, Fresno needs to attract billionaires like Donald Trump who will challenge local millionaires and potential billionaires. How come Kerkorian does not come around to give Donald Trump a run for his money? He is a local guy who rose to own major properties in Las Vegas and huge shares in Chrysler etc? He may not be interested in golf courses. For sure, Donald Trump will want to increase the scope of his development beyond the 420-acre he is getting. People may get a fair price for their homes and land.

Now, the question that is on everybody's mind is how this new owner will bring grassroots development to a historically abandoned part of the city? Who is going to benefit? Are the new jobs going to be there for the local residents? Or will they be shipped away from where they have been living for more than 50 years? How many of them will refuse to move? Maybe eminent domain will prevent them from being against development?

Blackstone's Group IPO: Who Has Access to the Hot Stocks?

As Blackstone shares are red hot, many people stand to benefit from the firm's most recent IPO. First thing first, Blackstone's shares are hard to get. If you were not in on the IPO, tough luck for you. Obviously, there are a few people who will benefit hugely. Chief Executive Stephen Schwarzman stands to benefit a lot. His personal wealth surges at the same time. Names such as Peterson and heir apparent Hamilton James also earned quite a few billions and millions. There is a lot of activity in the private-equity industry. It is booming to say the least.

Other insiders who benefitted are the Chinese government and insurance giant American International Group INC. Last May, China announced a $3 billion investment in Blackstone. Just imagine how much money it is making now.
